3. Applicants must have applied for, or be currently enrolled in, a graduate research degree in the human rights field at the University of Melbourne.

• cannot provide evidence that their demonstrated commitment to human rights extends beyond their academic studies

For the purpose of this scholarship, 'Animal Husbandry' is the production and management of animals and animal products. It is study/research regarding:
1. the principles of inheritance and their applications in the selection and breeding of agricultural animals,
2. the prevention and control of disease in agricultural animals,
3. the relationship between animal diet and the production of meat, milk, fish, poultry, wool and eggs, the body functions and processes of agricultural animals, and
4. the behaviour and welfare of animals in managed systems.
The study or research can form part of a University of Melbourne degree or result in a degree from an overseas institution. Applicants who wish to complete the study/research overseas as part of their University of Melbourne qualification must have already obtained a prior University of Melbourne qualification.
Applicants who wish to credit their overseas studies/research toward a University of Melbourne degree must obtain approval from their faculty.
